ENABLING
ACCESSIBILITY FUND EXTENDED
Brandon, July 30– Merv Tweed, Member of Parliament for Brandon-Souris, is pleased that
the Enabling Accessibility Fund (EAF) has been extended. Call for
Proposals (CFP) will be open from July 28 to September 10, 2010.
The fund supports community-based projects across Canada and was
designed to improve physical accessibility, enabling Canadians,
regardless of physical ability to fully participate and contribute to
their communities.
“Last year, organizations in Brandon-Souris benefited from this
funding, and I encourage organizations to apply as soon as possible, so
that we can see more projects come to fruition, benefiting our
communities, said Tweed.”
The EAF is a $45-million, three year commitment to expand opportunities
for people with disabilities and improve accessibility across Canada.
The program will provide up to $75,000 for projects to renovate
buildings, modify vehicles, and make information and communications more
accessible.
