Boissevain Kinsmen Receive Funding For Playground
(Brandon) January 6, 2009 – Merv Tweed, Member of
Parliament for Brandon-Souris, is pleased to announce funding to the
Kinsmen Club of Boissevain.
Funding of $37,322 was awarded under the Recreational Infrastructure
Canada (RInC) program to replace the Kinsmen play structure.
“Our Government is committed to assisting organizations such as the
Kinsmen to renew their recreational infrastructure,” said Tweed. “This
funding assists communities in keeping their facilities up to date and
safe.”
“The Kin Clubs of Boissevain are extremely pleased to receive the
grant,” said Sid Braybrook. “With this money and the great support from
our community, we are able to provide a safe wheelchair accessible
playground structure for our youth.”
The
RInC Program, part of Canada’s Economic Action Plan, is investing $500
million in recreational facilities across Canada over a two-year period.
It will provide a temporary economic stimulus that will help reduce the
impacts of the global recession while renewing, upgrading and expanding
recreational infrastructure in Canadian communities.
