New Horizon funding for Glen Haven Manor

Merv Tweed, MP for Brandon-Souris is pleased
to announce that Glen Haven Manor in Glenboro has received funding of
$1,309 to operate a seniors’ program in cooperation with area youth.
“Residents at Glen Haven Manor will benefit
from this Community Participation and Leadership funding of the New
Horizons Program,” said Tweed. “They will have the opportunity to
work together with the youth of the area through active living and
interactive games.”
“People will really enjoy the exercise and
activity,” said Elsie Pinkerton, Secretary-Treasurer of the Glen Haven
Manor. “Many residents should be exercising and the program will
offer interaction with the youth to make it more entertaining.”
The New Horizons for Seniors Program provides
grants to support community based projects that encourage seniors to
contribute to their communities through active living.
“Our government recognizes the crucial role our seniors play in healthy
communities. Seniors have the skills, experience and knowledge to
strengthen our relationships across generations,” Tweed concluded.
