2^nd Annual Merv Tweed Charity Golf Tournament

Brandon, MB - July 8, 2010– Merv Tweed, MP for Brandon-Souris declares the 2^nd Annual Merv Tweed Charity Golf Tournament a complete success.

The Tournament, which was held on June 25^th at the Shilo Golf & Country Club, raised $10,000 for the YMCA Strong Kids Program.  “We had a long list of sponsors and a full slate of golfers again this year,” said Tweed. “I am happy to be able to put on an event that benefits such a worthy cause.”

The Strong Kids campaign is an opportunity to fully realize and fulfill our obligation to all of the children in our community.  Last year, the Brandon Family YMCA provided Strong Kids memberships to over 300 youth and assistance to 125 Y & School children.

The 3^rd Annual Merv Tweed Charity Golf Tournament is tentatively scheduled for June 24^th, 2011.
