Funding of $64,325 for New Horizons Seniors Programs

Merv Tweed, MP
for Brandon-Souris, congratulated several Brandon-Souris seniors’
organizations on being selected to receive funding under the New
Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP).
“I’m pleased that our Government can assist
seniors’ groups in replacing equipment and furniture and make required
renovations to their centres,” said Tweed. “This funding will
allow seniors to continue and enjoy their programs and activities.”
Projects in the Brandon-Souris Constituency
receiving funding are:

Kenton Woodworth Seniors Services, Kenton - $6,600
·
Cartwright Senior Services of Roblin-Cartwright, Cartwright - $10,936
·
Brandon Seniors for Seniors, Brandon - $25,000
·
Baldur Seniors Independent Services, Baldur - $6,552
·
Virden Seniors Access to Independent Living, Virden - $11,937
·
Souris Seniors Organized Services, Souris- $3,300
The New Horizons for Seniors Program provides
grants to support community based projects that encourage seniors to
contribute to their communities through active living.
“Our Government recognizes the crucial role that our seniors play in
building healthy communities. These groups promote healthy living
for seniors’ and encourage the sharing of their skills, experience and
knowledge with their communities,” Tweed concluded.
