(Ottawa) May 8, 2009
Merv Tweed, MP for Brandon-Souris announced the approval of $271,774 in
funding for the Canada Summer Jobs 2009 Program for Brandon-Souris.
97 students have the
opportunity for summer employment in our constituency thanks to this
years student career placement program provided by Service Canada.,
said Tweed. Reading
through the approved positions, employers across the entire riding are
offering great work experience for students to gain the skills they need
to make a difference in our communities.
The Canada Summer Jobs
Program is a wage subsidy program that enables public, private, and
not-for-profit employers to create career-related summer jobs for
students. These jobs help students get valuable work experience
and money to fund their continuing education.
Employers successful in
their application under the program have been notified and may now
recruit summer students for their approved positions.
