Statement - Mac
Robinson - December 8, 2009
Mr. Merv Tweed (Brandon—Souris, CPC):
Madam Speaker, on October 10th, I had the pleasure of participating
in the grand opening of the Mac Robinson Community Centre in Cartwright,
Manitoba.
Mac lived his entire life in Cartwright, where he earned the reputation
as the on-call guy, as he was always available to help anyone in need.
His reputation for impeccable workmanship placed him in high regard both
in Cartwright and the surrounding communities.
Mac's many contributions to the community include involvement in the
Curling Club, Kinsmen Club and countless boards, as well as a volunteer
firefighter and ambulance driver. Mac also worked diligently on the save
our school committee to ensure that a school remained in Cartwright.
Supporting Mac throughout his remarkable life was his family, wife Jean
and children, Greg, Jeff and Lindsay, for whom this arena will be a
lasting memorial to their husband and father. I know without a doubt
that the Mac Robinson Community Centre will be a constant reminder of
the countless contributions this great man made to Cartwright and area.
