The Seton Centre in
Carberry Receives Funding
(Brandon)
January
6, 2010 – Merv Tweed, Member of Parliament for Brandon-Souris, is
pleased to announce funding to benefit The Seton Centre in Carberry.
Funding of $11,738
was awarded under the Enabling Accessibility Fund (EAF) to provide an
accessible entrance, install automatic door openers and upgrade washroom
facilities.
“Our Government is
committed to helping communities like Carberry upgrade their facilities
to ensure they are accessible to all,” said Tweed. “This funding for the
Seton Centre will enable full access to an important community
facility.”
“The EAF grant we
received has made a huge difference to our ability to include a
wheelchair accessible washroom in the addition to The Seton Centre,”
said Cheryl Orr-Hood. “Specifically, the money has made it possible to
make the entrance to our new facility and its washrooms user friendly to
everyone.”
The EAF is a
$45-million, three year commitment to expand opportunities for people
with disabilities and improve accessibility across Canada.
