-Staying Connected-
Keeping Canadians Safe August 2010

Dear Constituent,

I hope you’ve been able to take advantage of this summer season to relax a bit and spend more time with family. I’d like to take a moment to tell you about our Conservative government’s measures to keep you and your family safe from crime.

We’re bringing peace of mind to victim's families by repealing the faint hope clause. We’ve also passed a law saying that murder is automatically first-degree when committed in connection with a criminal organization.

Finally, we’ve targeted drive-by shootings: intentional shootings include mandatory minimum sentences of at least four years.

I've included more information below for you if you're interested.

As always, please feel free to get in touch with me if you have any questions or need to share your thoughts or concerns.

Best Regards,

- Merv
